The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is the only academic medical center serving the state of Arkansas, and is dedicated to providing exceptional education to students, continuing education to professionals, and informative education to the public.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) at UAMS provides a four-year residency program to five residents for each post-graduate year. The program is accredited until December 1, 2022 by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and is approved by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).

Clinical Faculty provide one-on-one mentoring sessions to medical students, daily mentoring and open-door availability to residents, weekly continuing education opportunities to professionals and students, and informative educational presentations to the community. Clinical faculty consists of: five Maternal-Fetal Medicine and three Fellows, two Gynecologic Oncology, three Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, two Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery, 13 General Obstetrics & Gynecology, one Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecology. Residents are exposed to leading-edge patient care such as the high-risk pregnancy program, which is the only one in Arkansas. As a national leader in telemedicine, UAMS provides high-risk pregnancy consultation and diagnosis through interactive video.

The residency program provides meaningful clinical experience covering the breadth and depth of the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
