Welcome to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Arkansas of Medical Sciences!

Our Mission…

To teach. To heal. To search. To serve.

Our Core Values…

Integrity. Respect. Teamwork. Creativity. Excellence.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is the only academic medical center serving the state of Arkansas, and is dedicated to providing exceptional education to students, continuing education to professionals, and informative education to the public.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) at UAMS provides a four-year residency program to five residents for each post-graduate year. The program is accredited until December 1, 2022 by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and is approved by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).

Clinical Faculty provide one-on-one mentoring sessions to medical students, daily mentoring and open-door availability to residents, weekly continuing education opportunities to professionals and students, and informative educational presentations to the community. Clinical faculty consists of specialists in the areas of: Maternal-Fetal Medicine (with Fellows), Gynecologic Oncology, General Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecology. Residents are exposed to leading-edge patient care such as the high-risk pregnancy program, which is the only one in Arkansas.  In addition to our high-risk pregnancy program, we are a national leader in telemedicine. OBGYN residents at UAMS  are exposed to extensive use of interactive video technology in high-risk pregnancy consultation and diagnosis.

The residency program provides meaningful clinical experience covering the breadth and depth of the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Thank you for your interest in our program, and we look forward to reviewing your application!
